About

Originally from Watertown, NY, Yolanda Ortiz grew up mostly in Clarksville, TN. She moved to Knoxville to attend school and is a senior majoring in Journalism and Electronic Media on the visual and magazine track with a minor in English. She will graduate in December 2008 and has no idea what awaits her afterwards. Yolanda hopes to work in production for a magazine or work with new media. Currently she is an intern with Knoxville Magazine. She enjoys working out, scrapbooking and eating good food.

For the most part I am a typical 22-year-old. I have no real money, I serve tables to pay the bills, I’m in college and for the most part I have no idea what goes on in my head or what I am doing with my life.

“About Me” paragraphs are always so difficult and frustrating to write. This is what I know about me. I am a journalism major. It’s the only thing I feel I am good enough at and enjoy enough to be involved with as a career. I am smart, but spacey at times. I’m quiet at first and do not smile a lot. Don’t assume that I am angry or in a foul mood and for the love do not tell me I need to smile more. I am a bit OCD and a clean freak. I vacuum weekly and clean up daily. I have enough confidence to get by, but not enough to illuminate it. I try to stay positive, but am pessimistic by nature. Sometimes I drown in my sarcasm. I have high hopes for my future, but have no idea what or where I want to end up. I like to work out, but love to eat more. I’m interested in home design and repair and arts and crafts. I consult many magazines to emerse myself with new and interesting things. I love the way the combination of the sun and pool water feel on my body. I love Spring weather. I can’t stand loud, obnoxious people, bad drivers and cigarette smoke.
