They Say it Better

“Pardon Me”

I’m One Stop
From A Breakdown
Two Steps From
Being Safe
Just Try To
See This Through
I’m Three Steps
From This Nightmare
And Four Steps
From The Door
The Rest Is
Up To You

Pardon Me While I
Just Turn My Back
And Walk Away
Pardon Me If I
Can’t Listen
To The Things
You Say
Pardon Me If I
Can’t Fake It
While You Still Believe
Pardon Me

I’m One Step
From Forgiveness
And Two Steps
From My Grave
We’re All Just
Passing Through
Three Steps
From Redemption
Four From The
Devil’s Door
On A Path
That Leads To You

Pardon Me While I
Just Turn My Back
And Walk Away
Pardon Me If I
Can’t Listen
To The Things
You Say
Pardon Me If I
Can’t Fake This
While You Still Believe
Pardon Me

Pardon Me While I
Just Turn My Back
And Walk Away
Pardon Me If I
Can’t Listen
To The Things
You Say
Pardon Me If I
Can’t Fake It
While You Still Believe
Pardon Me

I’m Two Steps
From Salvation
But I’m Only
Taking One
Pardon Me

“Be Here Now”

Don’t let your mind get weary and confused
Your will be still, don’t try
Don’t let your heart get heavy child
Inside you there’s a strength that lies

Don’t let your soul get lonely child
It’s only time, it will go by
Don’t look for love in faces, places
It’s in you, that’s where you’ll find kindness

Be here now, here now
Be here now, here now

Don’t lose your faith in me
And I will try not to lose faith in you
Don’t put your trust in walls
‘Cause walls will only crush you when they fall

Be here now, here now
Be here now, here now

“Believe”

I sit alone and watch the clock
Trying to collect my thoughts
All I think about is you
And so I cry myself to sleep
And hope the devil I don’t meet
In the dreams that I live trough

Believe in me
I know you’ve waited for so long
Believe in me
Sometimes the weak become the strong
Believe in me
This life is not always what it seems
Believe in me
Cause I was made for chasing dreams

All the smiles you had to fake
And all the shit you had to take
Just to lead us here again
I never have the things to say
To make it all just go away
To make it all just disappear

Believe in me
I know you’ve waited for so long
Believe in me
Sometimes the weak become the strong
Believe in me
This life is not always what it seems
Believe in me
Cause I was made for chasing dreams

Its my life
Its my choice
Hear my words
Hear my voice
And just believe

I sit alone and watch the clock
Trying to collect my thoughts
And all I think about is you

If you believe in me
Life is not always what it seems
Believe in me
Cause I was made for chasing dreams

Believe in me
I know you’ve waited for so long
Believe in me
Sometimes the weak become the strong
Believe in me
This life is not always what it seems
Believe in me

Cause I was made for chasing dreams

And the Beat Goes Boom, Baboom Baboom

I know this is late, but at least I got it up before the end of July.

I was able to get off work early enough to watch the 4th fireworks. Independence Day just wouldn’t be the same without the deafening boom of fireworks.

Boom is what we got. Before we knew of a delay on the start of the fireworks, Brian and I were going to get some grub. We noticed everyone was still hanging out (we saw some pathetic excuse for 4th fireworks in the distance a little earlier and wasn’t convinced those could possibly be all Knoxville had to offer). We asked a bystander about a possible delay. He said they were to start at 10:20.

That meant no food just yet because it was 10:10. We happen to be very close to Henley bridge where they set the fireworks off at. So we park (illegally) and headed to the hospital parking lot. We decided to get as close as possible and ended up poppin a squat right on the helicopter landing area, putting us about 100 feet from the bridge and the fireworks directly over us.

I watch the 4th fireworks every year, whether it is in Clarksville, Nashville, Knoxville or wherever I happen to be and I have never had the ground below me shake as they were shot off. I told Brian this is what war must sound like because the combination of loud blasts of explosives and trembling gravel was borderline scary, but nonetheless exciting.

Here is the finale of the show. Unfortunately you can’t feel the ground shake or even comprehend how loud each boom was, but judging from our reaction I have full confidence you will get the idea.

knoxnews.com videos

From January-May 2008 I was an intern at the Knoxville News Sentinel in the online department. In those months I was able to open a new door to the video world. Random This is a video extra on knoxnews.com. It is obviously about anything “random.” I shot, edited and completed two Random This videos.

Simple Scrapbooking
Making the Newspaper

During my internship with knoxnews.com I was asked to get video profiles of the UT baseball team. These are not my best videos, but I did learn a lot in the process of creating them. Below are links to the baseball videos.

Daniel Beasley and Zane Stone
Shawn Griffin and Bryan Morgado
Andy Simunic and P.J. Polk
Coach Raleigh on Auburn
Coach Raleigh on upcoming games
Cody Brown
Nick Hernandez and Jeff Lockwood

The video above was my final video project at the Sentinel. With my time at the Sentinel winding down, I struggled to find my own news idea (news is not my forte). So, once Jigsha (my editor) helped me  create a story idea I was off. The video is about living green downtown. Is living downtown green? Why and how is it the green thing to do?

I enjoyed walking the streets of downtown Knoxville shooting broll. The days were gorgeous and it gave me the opportunity to walk through my town and get a little more acquainted with it.

The list below are links to other videos edited by me. They are reporter shot videos which those of us in the online department were to piece together.
